What is the vision of the Church?
What is the basic, fundamental starting point for the church? Throughout his word, our Lord calls the church to be a household of godliness. His people are to have a passion for holiness, and for proclaiming and defending the truth. The true church stands on the word of God, our authority, and is called to declare the truth and proclaim Jesus Christ. Apart from the truth, there is no church.
What about membership in the Church? P2
Membership in the church is a greater commitment than attending a weekly worship service. A formal member of the church is one who agrees to be accountable to leadership, to submit to leadership, and to be fully committed to the church. Similarly, the leadership agrees to be accountable to the members. This is God’s plan for the church so that the members and the church will grow and flourish, and ultimately God will be honoured and glorified.

Hebrews 13:7 tells us to ‘remember your leaders…imitate their faith’. The call to leadership in the church is one of great responsibility. Leaders are called to set an example for the flock, serve with passion, eagerness, joy and humility as they feed and nurture the sheep that are in their care. How are we called to care for our leaders who protect, love and serve us? Respect, value and pray for them!
