James reminded us in Chapter 2, and throughout this letter, that true faith involves action: we are to ‘put feet to our faith’. James concludes his letter with an exhortation to fellow Christ-followers to go after those who have wandered from the truth. Believers are to look out for each other and encourage one another to remain steadfast in their commitment to Christ and obedience to God. If we see someone getting tangled up in sin, we ought to consider ways to love and lead that person to repent and seek God’s forgiveness. The true believer will then be restored and reconciled to Christ who forgives a multitude of sins.

The bible warns us that the Christian walk is never going to be easy and trials are a guarantee. When we encounter the storms of life, James cautions us to be prepared by seeking the wisdom from above that will give us the ability to persevere and weather the storm, knowing that God uses the difficulties in life to sanctify us, produce character within us and increase our faith and steadfastness. The challenges will undoubtedly come, bringing suffering and pain. But take heart: God’s word provides the wisdom and encouragement to endure suffering with the faith that the Lord uses all things for our good and his glory.
The Unparalleled Power of Easter
We have all been infected with the disease of sin. Left untreated, sin leads to death. There is no worldly cure, no works of man that can eliminate the plague of sin. The only solution to the inevitable penalty of sin is Christ. He suffered and died to pay the debt for all our sin, and then rose to life defeating death once an for all! Because of his sacrifice, the free gift of eternal life is now available to all who choose to turn from sin, repent of it and follow him in faith. This is the power of the cross!
