A Crash Course on Character
Today’s sermon, brings us to James 1:19-21, a crash course on character. James has been consistently firing massively important subjects at us so far in this series, and today is no exception. Again, James challenges us as believers to put feet to our faith and prove its authenticity through how we live. We aren’t saved to be dormant, we are saved to produce fruit! Character is a great indication of the fruit in our lives. Our character is best seen through how we listen, how we speak and how we address our anger. With clarity, James teaches we must be slow to speak and quick to hear – how often do we live like this command is reversed? We must TRASH our sin, and put on the Word of God. But if we want to do that, what anger needs to stop? What words need to stop? And what listening needs to start?
The Goodness of God P2
Our world is full of deception and lies. Lies, especially about our God and His character. The world will lead you to believe blasphemy about God, that He is capable of wrong and evil against mankind. Christianity is shown in media as a source of hate and bigotry – but for this reason, God has given us His Word so we can cleanse ourselves of what is untrue. Today in James 1:16-18, we are called to not be deceived and to renew our minds of what is actually true. Our God is good, generous, reliable, faithful, truthful and unstoppable. All good things come from Him! Including every good thing we have on earth and the blessing of salvation through Jesus – the greatest gift. Our Father of Lights is unchanging, in the midst of a confused and ever-changing world. In love today, James reminds us what kind of God we serve.

The Spiritual Reality of the Rich and Poor P2
Today’s message brings us to James 1:9-11. The book of James is well known for its practical wisdom, often called the ‘Proverbs of the New Testament,’ and today is a great example of that. In James, we have learned about trials, about wisdom, and today, we learn about the realities of the rich and the poor. Our world exalts the earthly rich, but our God does the opposite. The physically rich have no spiritual advantage over the poor. Because even when you have nothing on the earth, you can have everything in Christ! Let the gospel take root in your life today and show you the temporal world is undependable and there is nothing more valuable than your identity in Christ. Through salvation, regardless of economic state, we are co-heirs with Christ! Our bank accounts mean nothing in eternity! Do we believe that?

Start Here: For Integrity
Integrity has been defined as “who you are when nobody is watching”. Employees tell us that above all, integrity is the single most important characteristic in a leader. The world appreciates integrity, but it is deeply valued by God. The Lord gave us Jesus, the perfect picture of integrity. It is the foundation that allows us to trust in God without wavering. Today, Pastor Robbie examines Psalm 26 and living a life of integrity.
