In the famous Old Testament story, Jonah thought he could flee the call of God. He was so wrong! As we continue to discuss Jonah’s futile plan to escape God, and God’s response: pursuing Jonah to expose him and break him so that He might love and bless him even more, it’s time to ask yourself: are there places in your life where you’re running from God? Because you must believe: you can run but you can’t hide!

As believers and followers of Christ, we have no reason to fear death: through his sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection, Jesus has purchase us everlasting life and an inheritance in heaven that is guaranteed and irrevocable.

Lewis said, “The business of heaven is joy…” and today, through two of Jesus’ wonderful teaching stories, the Parable of the Lost Sheep and the Parable of the Lost Coin, we learn that heaven’s joy is God’s joy becoming our joy! Rest assured: God searches out those who are truly lost and truly repentant… and have no doubt, He will find you. That’s why we must sing out to Him with all of our hearts, today and every day. If the business of heaven is joy, let’s give heaven our business!
